Thread: If you're a newbie like I am -- buy Lynn's DVD

I just finished watching Lynn's DVD, and I will certify that it's worth every penny if you are a new SR shaver like I am. If there had been such a resource 30 years ago, I would probably have shaved with my original straight razor for the whole 30 years, instead of giving it up because I was no good at it (or my razor was never shave ready). The combination of the DVD and my new shave ready Ralf Aust from SRD made for a great 3d shave today. It also greatly enhanced my confidence and proficiency in stropping. For now, I plan to leave the honing to the honemeisters, but I think I understand what I ought to be doing on a day to day basis and am looking forward to being able to improve my skills every day.

I'll also be shipping my original Hoffritz SR to a honemeister for honing in the next few days. Thanks again to you great folks on this forum and to all involved with the Straight Razor Place. You're teaching this old dog new tricks, which I'd never have picked up otherwise.

I'm sure I would still be considered a newbie compared to many on this site (been wet shaving for 2 years) and am fairly proficient. I have however considered picking this DVD up because there's always something we can learn! Glad to hear it helped and you enjoyed it. Watch it again, guarantee there will lots you missed on the first spin!
