Sounds like a plan, I like to attend but it depends when and where If it's not too short time, it's a good idea!

Vielsalm would be nice, though perhaps a tad bit unpractical for our northern brethren. Antwerp or Eindhoven would be a more central location, and fairly easy to reach from anywhere in the Benelux.

True Bruno, very unpractical. I went there last year and the trip took me more than two hours from Brussels (on a Friday evening, with traffic jams, road works etc. ...). Buuuuut it was worth it

The real question here is, do we look for a place related to this hobby we all share (this would mean, within a "reasonable" distance, either Vielsalm or Solingen) or not. If not, everything's possible really, but one of the big cities is then preferable (A'dam, R'dam, Brussels, Antwerp, ...) because you can easily reach them with public transportation.

Leeuwarden and Brugge are not an option. And I'm not sure my wife'll let me go to Amsterdam, again.

Maybe we should just reserve a couple of tables at an Irish pub, have a meal and get the gear out afterward. Look at some razorpr0n, (learn to) hone, exchange tips and drink a beer or two . When there is the need for an excursion we could arrange that at a later date imho.

I know a great pub in Eindhoven almost next to the station(400m or so).

If it's Antwerpen or Eindhoven, and I can make it that particular day, I'll be there. I would propose a Saturday, in September maybe ? I would prefer June, but I know at least one member here who'll be in exams ... May may be too soon to get everything organised but it's a possibility as far as I'm concerned.

It would be good to warn said pub owner that we're going to run around with sharp razors though ...

Oh, should Antwerpen be chosen: there's a shop there that sells straight razors, coticules, soaps etc ... called koordenwinkel.

(btw I do have issues with food in Irish pubs, but if the company's right it doesn't matter too much)

Great, sounds like we already have enough people to meet, more can join!

I'm really up for Antwerpen or Eindhoven. Although Eindhoven has my favor (I'm biased, of course )
So let's first keep the two choices on Eindhoven and Antwerpen, any good ideas are always welcome.

Like BrickBag said: An excursion to the quarries can be arranged on another occasion, would be quite interesting :P

Another point is the date, September is too far away imho. I'm thinking more in line of April. To ease the pain of the working class, weekends would be best

It would depend on the location and the date for me. But I'd come if I could.

With all due respect for the motherland, I would definitely opt for Antwerp. And not just so we can visit de Messenwinkel, also because of Coticules, belgium beers, belgium girls, and because Antwerp is very nice.

I would love to come, date of no importance to me as I'm retired :-)

But maybe some of us could pick up others within reasonable distance and travel together? I live in the centre of West-Vlaanderen - Belgium. Others are welcome to ride along if they want. Ron
