I appreciate the sentiment Mick. To be sure....my stuff offcourse isn't anywhere NEAR the same priceclass as those fellows either. For a little taste, The first link I've never seen anything of his under €400, the second guy never under €600 and the third....I don't even know because they never have a pricetag on them when I see them.
So at least we're not competing in the same price bracket lol.

Thanked: 983And that is the problem as well. I think a quality user knife should fetch the higher price, simply because it is actually useful. Can't control the market though can we ...

Don't know about that. If properly done a fancy blade can be used just fine as well.....it's just that must buyers fear using them because of damage. Also most fancy blades took a LOT more work to get that fancy.....not to mention investment to get the materials for it.
But I understand where you're coming from.

Thanked: 983Yes, I know it takes more work to make a pretty knife, but it is just as you said, rarely if ever used for fear of damage...Makes it useless no matter how well it's made in my opinion, but I knew you would understand what I meant anyway.

This is my sentiment exactly.
most knives I have seen on weapons.be are just 500$ paperweights.
Which is a damn shame, since the people making them are an order of magnitude better than I am.
As I said before, that is also the reason I only make kitchen knives and razors for now.
I would consider making a combat knife for someone in e.g. the special forces, but my time is far too valuable to me to be making paperweights.

I can understand that sentiment. I enjoy making user knives most. Any kind of use....even if it's just as a letter opener. Which is also why you won't see €500 knives from me anytime soon.

Well, I had a great time. Didn't have any SRP members identify themselves as such. But it was very nice anyway. Also, there was a straightrazor shaving demonstration. I didn't know about that and didn't have time to attend but Böker were there so I suspect that they did the demo. They did sell straight razors.
I don't have many pictures....I spent WAY too much time talking to people to take pics. But here's one of my table right before the doors were about to open:

Thanked: 983Nice photo mate. Looks like it might have been a little light on space to move too. I hope it turned out to be a profitable day for you, either on the day, or in future sales.

If it was it'll be in future sales because the day itself (although great fun) wasn't very profitable. I came out just short of what the table had cost me.
