Default Frank Shaving Pure Badger 23mm

I love Pure Badgers that's why i bought this brush
I liked the colour and the shape of the handle too
The seller was heisheng1983 from ebay.

In the beginning i had a problem
The knot was a little bit more stiff-untamed than other badgers and in bowl lathering the results were not so good as i expected.

    Latter i had some improvement

With Creams the results were much better.

I haven't tried every brand of brush out there but FS seems to offer some of the best bang for the buck. In the last year I picked up their biggest silvertip off of Amazon for about $50. Its a great brush and offers far more than I could get if I shopped another big name. I don't think $50 gets your foot in the door with Simpsons. And the FS outperforms my lower end Simpson brushes. But it is densely packed with hairs and will hog a lot more product when you use it.

I have a FS Manchurian badger that was discounted to around $35 as it had some sort of defect in the handle that I have yet to find, I checked out the normal price ones and they were around $90. It has been good, though a bit floppier than I would have liked. I am enjoying using it none the less.

I have some other brushes from FS via Iantang
This one was a little bit untamed compared to others
In the beginning i was disappointed.

Whenever you go with a pure badger you never really know just how stiff the brush will be. There is quite a range and on the stiff side it can really be stiff.

Either way it shouldn't affect the lather making abilities.

I just got a Virginia Sheng 26mm silvertip for $38 and it hasn't shed a hair. The hair really doesn't feel quite like silvertip so I wonder if it is just bleached and dyed to look that way. More like "Best" to feel the tips. But anyway it is an awesome latherer and feels good on the face. I am told that the Frank Shaving brushes used to be that cheap but the guy went way up on the price cause of all the Americans buying up his stock. TBH I haven't used one but I know a guy who would loan me one to try. He's got this old Batman and Robin lunchbox LOL full of his old brushes that he doesn't use anymore.

It is not like some other pure badgers as i bought from Iantang (FS) or TGN
The colours of the bristles are more "bold" and the knot as i said is a little bit stiff
I have many brushes so i don't use it often due to big rotation
Of course now after some uses is softer but i thing need some more work.
I love Pure badgers and yes due the different source no knot is equal to another.
