Thanked: 10Georgetown G20 on the way!
Just ordered my Georgetown pottery G20 online. All the other options seemed great but I just fell in love with the Hamida glaze.
I'd love to hear some other G20 owners experiences while I patiently await mine's arrival.

I've actually had two of their scuttles. I bought when they first came out and then later when they modified them. The earlier ones simply didn't hold enough water. I understand the latest versions rectify that issue.
I think cosmetically they are the best looking scuttles out there. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 1195My wife bought me a Georgetown G20 for Father's Day and I absolutely love it; I don't think I've stopped using it (and another scuttle she bought me a couple months later) since then lol. All of my soaps and creams perform brilliantly when used in the G20 too, which is good because I've heard some products don't perform well when lathered in scuttles.

Thanked: 36I love my G20! Used it pretty much daily for about a year and a half! I keep an electric hot water kettle on the counter next to the sink. I soak my brush in the bowl of the scuttle and turn on the kettle while showering. Once out of the shower, I fill the scuttle mostly with the boiling water and a little tap water and have hot lather every day.
Cheers and enjoy yours,
JC

Thanked: 10Oh man you guys got me even more anxious for this thing to arrive. JC50 I got the same Hamada glaze as well!
The main reason I went with the g20 over the others was the simple fact that the shape/glazes were stunning. I bought Cella shave cream to use with this scuttle and unfortunately just saw in another thread that this particular cream does not do so well in a scuttle. The only other thing I have is the Col.conk soap puck that came with my straight razor kit.
What do you guys use with yours?

Thanked: 10It's funny you ask that. I was under the assumption that the order would take a few days to receive. My order was "invoiced" on the 3rd and I'm still awaiting it's arrival. I'm sure someone else who has used them in the past could answer this question better.
I saw the hand-thrown competitors had a 4-6 week wait which is part of the reason why I went with GP instead. Hopefully this isn't the same case... I'll update you when I receive it!

Thanked: 36I love the scuttle and color as well. I bought it specifically because it will hold so much hot water and keeps lather warm/hot.
I just used cella in it today. Some soaps/creams don't do so well with high heat (like MWF) so I just use less hot water in the scuttle and put in some luke warm tap water when using those and they work fine and still keep lather warm. Or if I'm in a hurry, just use the top bowl w/o filling the reservoir.

Thanked: 1263I don't believe that Georgetown Pottery makes that many in advance so it is basically they are made to order. Due to the Christmas Season etc. they may be a bit behind…be patient…they are worth the wait. I have the G5 and would never part with it…I hem and haw each day over ordering the G20…lol.
