Thanked: 0Omega brushes
I am a beginner and I would like to try a boar hair brush from Omega. Which of the models can you suggest?
Thanks in advance,

Jerry,
Through the years I used a variety of Omega boar brushes. The No. 31064 always stood out. Also, don't forget the Semogue boar brushes from Portugal. The Owners Club, No. 830, No. 620 and No. 1305 are tops for me.

Jerry,
+1 on Obie's advice. Both Omega and Semogue make great boar brushes.
My preference in the Omega and Semogue brushes is the two-banded boar brushes. Great value and great brushes imho.
I have and use a Semogue 830, Omega Modern Beehive and a Omega Beehive."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanked: 1160I'm a Semogue man m'self. A good boar brush is nothing to snub for sure. Listen to the Assyrian as he gives sage advice.

Thanked: 3225I only have 2 boar brushes and they are a bit different in feel but both work with any soap or cream I have tried. I have this Omega Omega Boar Bristle Shaving Brush, Mock Ivory Handle | Fendrihan Shaving Store and it probably is the cheapest boar from a known maker. It is the stiffer of the 2 I have and took about 3 weeks of everyday use to break in. I think it is good value for the money. The other one I have is a Semogue 1350 which when broken feels a little softer than the Omega. None of those two will break the bank either.

I also have one of the Omega 10066's that BobH mentioned. It is a great boar brush for both face and bowl lathering, especially for $9.00.

Thanked: 40+1 on the Semogue. I use the Semogue 2000 (It's got longer bristles than the 1305), and I like it a lot. A great deal at around $20.

I have an Omega, Badger and Blade special edition that is a nice brush. My favorite brush is a Semouge 830. It splays out just enough to be perfect for face or bowl lathering.
