Default can i trim brush length?

I have an Omega pure badger bristle brush that I got from SRD a few months ago.

it works well, I have no real complaints other than the fact that the bristles are a little bit long and a little bit loose feeling against my skin....

I was wondering if its possible to trim them down so that their a little bit shorter, I don't even know if this would work to achieve a stiffer feel to the brush or not but i figured I'd ask if it is something that's possible....or completely stupid and unheard of haha

I know I may just need to buy a different brush, maybe with a larger knot

    thanks for your help!

You could trim them with scissors, but you would also destroy the knot

Wellcome, the problem is the loft is set to high for you.
Some people use an o-ring around the base, looks like hell but effectivly lowers the loft and makes for more so called backbone.

ahhh an O-ring...that's a great idea! i'm going to have to give that a try...i can see why it would look terrible but ours definitely worth a shot.

if i can't find an O-ring, do you suppose a small elastic band would do it?
    thanks again!

Stop by a hardware store with the brush. Have them measure the knot at the handle. Get a couple o-rings to stretch over the handle and tightly onto the knot. That will tighten the knot at the handle and make the brush active region shorter.
Alternate used for year is to wrap the knot tightly in string/ fishline from the handle downward till the bristle length is right for you.
    Enjoy!

I have use O-rings many times in the past
Usually work fine in a over-bloom knot
I found them here in black and brown colour
If the knot needs it and suits with the handle is an excellent solution !
