    Default NEW Shavemac D01 3-band!

So as promised in my previous thread (HERE) about my visit to Shavemac, here are some photos of my newly arrived brush, a Shavemac D01 3-Band 23mm x 46mm Fan with a black 944 handle. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but the density on this thing is off the charts!

Nice shave brush. Do you know what D01 stands for?

I don't, but relative to Shavemac's "normal" silvertip, the D01 has a lot more backbone.

Thanks. I was looking at their website the other day. They didn't give an explanation as to what the designation meant and thought maybe I missed it. But they sure had a steep price tag on it! So I hope it serves you well

Thank you mate! As for the price, I agree that it is not inexpensive, but this is a fully custom brush, and given that and the overall quality, I do think it is a very good value relative to a lot of other non-custom brushes out there, YMMV.

IIRC the deal is that Bern had some 'special' badger bristle for a time and than it was gone. DrP, a big time brush collector on ShaveMyFace forum, posted that Bern had it in again. It has more backbone than the 'regular' bristle. So I believe, having sourced it again by popular demand, Bern calls it D01 and it is an item available upon special order. Going back a number of years with this info but I think that is the story. Congrats on the brush. Enjoy it.

It's probably the Manchurian stuff. They seem to be using that now as the premium hair.

Even better, I went directly to the Shavemac offices and production facility! See HERE.
