Travel Brush
All,
I do a TON of travel and I want to be able to take my shaving routine along with me. I was curious if anyone could recommend a good travel brush??? I don't want to drop a ton of cash but realize you get what you pay for! I would also prefer that it close into some type of shell for protection if at all possible!! Thanks!

Thanked: 4827If you take a regular brush and just drop it into a plastic tube you have a travel brush. You can make a plastic tube for one easily with hardware store stuff. Pipe for a built in vacuum works as does really big pill bottles. What you are trying to do is keep your brush from getting messed up in your luggage.

Thanked: 3226I would go with a Muhle synthetic silver tip in one of the smaller knot sizes. Synthetic brushes dry much more quickly that natural fiber knots and, in my experience, lather any soap or cream you care to use easily. You can put it in a plastic prescription bottle of the appropriate size. Drill some holes in the lid and maybe the base for air flow to aid in drying. They are not hugely expensive either.

Look at the Parker travel brush if you like badger hair. Not too expensive and designed specifically for travel.

I have a VDH Boar brush that came in a kit I found at Wally World. I think the plastic case I bought cost more than the brush....
But if you are a Boar fan, it is a great brush. So much so that I was crushed when I miss-placed it for a few days. (found it)

If I did a lot of travel as much as I hate to admit it I'd go with a synthetic. The good ones have really improved and care is a snap so you don't have to worry. I'd never take a good brush on a trip they can walk away too easily.

I took one of my vintage TOBS antique rescues, put it into a piece of cut PVC pipe, put air holes & capped the ends. Sort of HillBilly, but it protects my brush.

Do you have any links to some of the newer/better ones ? I see a ton of china/eBay ones but not sure what's what.
This one is kind of what I'm looking for.
Aaron i Hope this helps
