Thanked: 4Just pick this up. Anybody know anything about it?
I picked this up off Etsy. It says it's coming from Poland. The description simply said:
This is vintage shaving brush made in DDR.
It's made of natural bristle and has plastic handle
It looks really vintage
I just really liked the look of it and dig all the old cold war era stuff from behind the iron curtain.
The one thing that is bugging me is the logo says "Made in DDR", which is in English. It looks like the bristles have seen better days and might need replacing.
Are any of you familiar with this brush?

"DDR" is the old east Germany, Deutsche Demokratische Republik. So it's a post WW II (1949-1990) item. "Reine Borste" is the manufacturing company. They are still making brushes today and are readily available

Thanked: 3225I believe "Reine Borste" is German for "Pure Bristle" and that usually indicates a boar knot.
