    Default shavemac brush

I am looking to purchase a shavemac silver tip brush http://www.shavemac.com/index.php?la... 83&prod_id=3. The only thing holding me back is the wood handle..
    • With proper care; washing with warm water, drying well and hanging on stand after use, will it last as long as another brush with another handle?
    • Finally, at this price do you think it's a good buy? I have heard only good things thus far about shavemac brushes.
    • Is the size adequate for my face? I have an average size face
Thanks in advance for all your help

    Hi,

I don't have any wood handled brushes personally, but with proper care like you stated it should hold up fine for you for many years....It's a really Great looking brush, I'd get it if I were you...

I just ordered another Shavemac from Jim @ Vintage Blades today, they are great brushes

I think Shavemacs are great buys, and the 23mm size should be fine for an average size face, mines great

    Oogi,

Jim at Vintage Blades has a selection of silvertip Shavemacs and he just posted an offer of free shipping to the US and Canada until March 31.

Just giving an alternative since I don't know how much shipping would be from the site you have but maybe it ends up being a little less expensive with the Vintage Blades offer.

I posted a reply in the Newbie forum. I believe that Bernd charges $12 shipping, unless you request overnight. If you order from Bernd, do not request overnight shipping. Odds are good that the Fish and Wildlife guys will hold up delivery for a day or two. Bernd ships FedEx, and everything that goes through Memphis labeled BADGER gets inspected. Also, if you do order from Bernd and eventually get an additional bill from FEDEX, call them and refuse to pay it. That's what I did and no questions were asked.

Also (I bring this up just because I just found the Shavemac site yesterday) if you go to the bottom menu on the left (Custom Made Section) you can pick the handle shape, material, and badger quality (Pure, Finest, and Silvertip). This was the only way I found a Shavemac in the style I wanted...and the price wasn't that much different (Silvertip with Pearlex and Chrome handle--$99.20)
