Thanked: 2Looking for a second brush
Hello Gents,
I am looking for a second brush. Currently I have the Parker Safety Razor silvertip badger and so far I really like it. I have only been using shaving soaps, Colonel Conk, and I am able to work up a fairly good lather with them, but I wonder if my brush is too soft for the hard soaps. I am going to try some other soaps or creams, but am wondering about a different type of brush to try out. I am new to this whole thing any any feedback/recommendations will help. Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 284Many people like the two band finest knots, which seem to be in between. Good backbone but still soft.
You may want to consider a nice soap too. Nothing wrong with what works for you, but there are some real treats out there.I love living in the past...

You may also consider a boar brush. They're not as soft as badger, but they are much stiffer and pick up hard soaps pretty quickly. They're also pretty cheap (compared to most badgers), so it's generally considered to be a worthwhile experiment to see if you like them. Semogue and Omega make very nice boar brushes.

Thanked: 2After doing some more research/reading reviews etc., I am going to go with the Semogue 1305. Thoughts?
