Thread: Zaza - turkish Boar brush

Folks this is my newest Boar,it's from turkey
The manufacturer says it clear,it's a Boar !
No,no tricks this time,this isn't a "horse" as some others say although their knot looks like-smells like-feel like a Boar.







Overall height 105mm / 4.25 inches
Loft 50mm / 2 inches
Knot 25mm / 1 inch

I think that the wood is Mahogany and there is a question about his endurance in water
We will see in the future,otherwise i will re-handle it.
The knot is softer than Omega's but not softer than Semogue's
Is a little bit softer than his brother,the other turkish Boar the Jaguar.
No glue over-flue problems as you can see,more photos and impressions soon after the de-funk work.

That Zaza is a little bit different from Jaguar,the bristles need more break-in period and more de-funk work
It's a little bit softer and needs a little bit less pressure in the face while swirling.
Here are the first bowl lather photos,i will keep you informed for my next shavings with that brush.







The knot has a small inclination if you look him from all sides
I pray for the handle to last long but even it fails i will continue to use that knot.
They correct me,the handle material is Beech wood.

I share your concerns about the handle. It doesn't look like the wood is sealed with any type of finish. I do like the 25mm knot set at a 50mm loft.

I have made some attempts on it
I will post photos soon,meanwhile i have use it some times
The brush doesn't look too different in break-in period.

Any updates on the brush after break-in? I am looking for a new boar brush, would you recommend?

I have applied a protective coat and the handle became a little bit darker
No significant differences after some shavings,the hair didn't split as i expected.
It's not a bad brush but with the same money you can buy an Omega or a TGN Boar knot
Can not achieve the Omegas or the Semogues,soon i will post the photos and sorry for the delay.
