    Default Anyone Else? (brush prep)

    Anyone else do this pre-shave?

Been doing this for years - not sure if I thought this up on my own, or if someone here told me to do this.

Either way, by placing a few hairs into the pug and closing it as I fill my sink, it keeps the brush down for a complete soak. It stays there like that until I am done my shower and ready to use it.

Not really sure its needed. But I can report that for an OCD dude like myself, it does keep the brush down and after at least a year, there has been no negative side-effects on the brush. It's not losing any hair and the hairs aren't fraying.

I(and everyone else in the house) spit in the sink daily and wouldn't soak my brush in it because of that but maybe that's just me being a germaphobe.

I just drop the brush in a cup of warm tap water while I strop.

Doubt you are doing any harm, but don’t think the brush needs to be completely submerged.

    If it works for you…

I've done that before after a shave to start cleaning the brush, let it sit like that for a moment or two while I'm puttering around tidying up other stuff.

Not something I do regularly though...

Never thought about that - my den is mine so no one spits in my sink. I brush my teeth in the shower in the morning, and in the wife's den at night.

Sorry, no I don't do that. My brush prep is dip, shake and load.

I like that Idea. I fill my sink for each shave anyway, so it would be silly for me to use a cup too. But I like that idea. Maybe one day if I stop doing the sink thing, I'll do it that way. Seems reasonable.

LOL - you don't have to be sorry for not being as OCD as I am Bob lol. It's not a competition to see who is more neurotic lol.

I never-ever soak my brush in the sink
My wife sometimes makes hand washing for sensitive clothes there and don't forget the bleach !
For sure there will be residue in the walls.
