Hmmmmmmm ... If only one?
I suppose the Morris & Forndran in the center. A fan shape, which was a revelation to me, in 26x50mm two band Badger.
A very close second, another two band Super Badger, on the left. This was a LE run set in motion by two gents, one named Ehsan, who used to be around the boards. A Simpsons Colonel X2L .. This brush just does everything well!
If money was a concern, the original New Forest brush, the #2201, called Superior Badger (two band). Another brush that can take on anything.
Of course, I'm a confirmed bowl lather. As such, handle shape is a consideration for me, and these all pass the tests!

Since without pics it didn't happen, here are the four brushes in my rotation - I enjoy using them all, and my favorite changes almost shave by shave.
Walleyman, Shavemac, Vulvix Grosvenor Mixed Badger/Boar, and the Simpsons Chubby 1 Super Badger...just can't go there and pick one, would be like having to pick one straight razor so I'll just say the Simpson's brush is all it was cracked up to be and more....

Brushes are like potato chips. You simply can't have just one.
I could never just pick one of mine. All are number one with me except of course, my ivory brush which wins in the looks department but is too floppy for me to use.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

ok , i must change my mind from my previous post in this thread .. although i have not used it to shave i did have to dip it in the bowl after i cleaned it .. o WOW does this thing feel nice ! although it is a soft silvertip this thing has just enough backbone to it that it has moved to my #1 brush !!
ROONEY style 3 (small) in silvertip badger
