Default Thater brush break-in period... How Long?

I've been through a few boar & badger brushes from new to broke-in & the time seems to vary a lot.
I've been looking at Thater brushes and wondered if I should expect something similar to a Duke or Chubby in regard to break-in times...

Thoughts from those with Thater brushes would be appreciated

I've had quite a few badger brushes, including Simpson, Plisson, Rooney, Shavemac, Thater, among others, and I don't recall any of them 'breaking in.' Seems to me they worked well right from jump street. YMMV.

When the staff issues a warning it is not a suggestion and should be taken seriously.

Good news on the Thater's - thanks for the many replies.

For me in the past, boar brushes have always been stiff & didn't start to splay until a few dozen shaves had passed.
My most recent CH1 has been used a dozen times and it's still hogging lather and has minimal flow-through.

Soap still makes it to my face either way so it's not an issue, but I think used or broken-in brushes feel and perform better than brand new.

I've read that boar brushes require a break in. I've gotten 3 of them, all Semogues, 2 used and broken in apparently, and 1 new which didn't require a break in AFAIC. Worked well from the git go. But I have heard that break in stuff about boars, not about badgers though.

Finished off the Christmas purchases tonight...
Threw in a Thater 4125/2 Black Finest 2-Band Silvertip Fan Shaving Brush for myself

This will be a wider & taller knot compared to my CH1 brush, as well as a fan vs bulb shape... Can't wait for my 12/25 shave.

    Hirlau and gooser like this.

I got that model in the white a week or so ago,,, I do feel it needs a break in, & have been using it every other day. It is unique in that it is a bit stiff, but handles cream just great, same as with a puck,,, I even think it is a bit scritchy, but it's new. I'll give my final thoughts on it in 3 weeks or so.

With a fairly big, dense knot I don't know if it can be avoided.
I appreciate your feedback - best of luck with the new brush!
