Thanked: 13245I don't see why not
All you would need is a couple of sets of step pulleys and the lathe with a belt in between
My wood lathe is separate from the motor and came that way...
PS: Wood lathes can often be found on CriagsList for dirt cheap, I bought mine with everything tossed in the boxes for a crisp $100 bill
Heck the tools I got with it were worth double that

Thanked: 2027Well your going to need a tool rest at the least, you cannot just start turning freehand.
If you can somehow chuck the wood pce,you can use files to shape it.it can be done.CAUTION

Definitely worth a try, I have seen some videos of folks using a Pillar drill to shape would so it could be done.

I can't wait to have a man cave, I remember the smell of campher oil the first time my grandfather taught me how to turn a night light stem.
A good lather is half the shave.
