I'm so spoiled, they can smell me coming! This is a fantastic brush!


I have been shaving with the brush Pixelfixed to made for me since Friday. The handle is Ebony, Lignum Vitae, and Cocobolo. These beautiful and dense hardwoods combined and this brush weighs in at a hefty 87.5 grams with the TGN High Mountain White 24mm knot set at 52mm.


The brush on the right on the first pic is a restoration project I have yet to start. I liked the vintage Ever-Ready handle so much I asked Pixelfixed to model the custom brush after it. I have to say that he improved on it immensely. I love the weight! The Ever-Ready weighs in at about 58 grams. The brush on the left is my NYSC Elizabeth Street Badger. Up until recently this was my favorite brush.


This is a thirsty brush. My first shave with it I used Cade Soap. I soaked the brush for about 5 minutes. Shook the brush firmly once, and gave it about 15 swirls on the Cade to load it up and I started my face lather. I've never had this happen. Lather started to build on my face then after about a minute. It looked like I was mopping the lather back off.


I checked the brush and there was plenty of soap in it. Without loading any more soap I dipped the tips of the bristles in the water and started working the brush on my face again. NOW I start getting a good lather. The shave was great.


Saturday I was prepared for this thirsty brush. I soaked it while I was in the shower so about 25 minutes. I used a sample of MEM (Olive Oil based) shaving cream and my Old Spice Mug. I used largish peanut sized dab (Virginia not Spanish). I started working the lather in my Old Spice Mug, and kept having to add water. I ended up with so much lather I had to stop working it in the mug. It was overflowing. I could have made 15 passes on my face. The pic below with the brush in the mug is after three full passes shaving.


This brush makes so much lather it is amazing. A little practice and I think my shaving soaps and creams will last forever.


The High Mountain White Knot is heavenly. It has just the right amount of backbone. Just enough scritch so you know it's there, yet not enough to bother if you are a confirmed scritch hater. The only brush I have that is softer is my Plisson Pour L'Occitane and it it is great but, is missing the backbone that the TGN HMW definately has. Set at 52mm, the 24mm knot gives just enough splay with zero floppiness. It turns any decent shaving cream into yogurty goodness.

I'm jealous. When I win the lottery I'm goanna get me one.

He sells his brushes at such a reasonable price there is no need to win the lotto.

And the TGN HMW knot as this is what I am leaning towards getting also from Pix just need to work out handle shape and materials

I saved up my Christmas Pennies. This was a gift to myself and, the best thing about getting a gift for yourself is that you always get what you want! I honestly have to say this is one of the best shaving gifts I've ever given myself.

Very nice brush, I like the sound of the HMW knots.

I also have one of his brushes. I knew that I wanted it the moment I saw it, so I bought it. I then proceeded to ask the wife if it would be OK to make a purchase for that amount.... luckily she said yes. \m/

It is one of my favorite brushes and the one I use the most. My Thater coming in a close second.
