    Default badger aerated, boar slicker?

Am still quite new to this, started out with best badger and recently got a semogue 1305 boar bristle. Still not fully broken in but am finding that it is giving me much slicker less fluffy lather. Where the badger gave fluffier not so slick lather. Anyone else find this? Or is it just bad technique from me?

I have not noticed that problem/difference. I don't know if you are using a cream, hard soap or are bowl or face lathering. Me, I face lather with either hard soaps or creams. At a guess, it could be that the boar brush is picking up more product than the badger to begin with. Try loading more product into the badger before making lather to see if you get a slicker lather.

Using cella or proraso white so more croap style. Will try your suggestion tomorrow. Bowl lathering with maybe bit of face lathering if seems necessary. Cheers

Yes, with croaps like those two I think a boar would pick up more product. I like a slick lather. Let us know if you do get a slicker lather with the badger tomorrow.

I think BobH hit the nail on the head. You can try bowl lathering it or just work some more water into your current routine. I 'm a huge fan of face lathering Cella myself. I found I got a better lather when I "bloomed" the Cella first by placing a layer of water on the Cella and letting it sit there while I shower. This hydrates the soap a little bit more and I find I don't need to load as much into my brush.

I enjoy figuring out new soaps, let us know what works for you.
