    Default First good brush

I just received my first good brush today. It is a dovo silvertip from classicshaving. Any opinions on this brush.

I got a stand to...nifty little set up.

The stand holds a straight....but i remember hearing not to keep razors in the bathroom because of moisture.. True?

I don't have a dovo brush by from what I hear they are quality brushes. I don't know if they make them or are made by someone else. I would suspect they are made by another well known brush maker since brushmaking is a real specialty.

I wouldn't keep a razor in the bathroom unless its really well ventilated as moisture is not a razors best friend unless its stainless and even then its just rust resistant not proof.

Rob, I don't keep my razors in the bathroom. It can have horrible effects on carbon steel.

I use a dovo silvertip that I bought more than two years ago and I love it!!
I really cant compare it to anything else as I've only owned and used three brushes.
my first brush was a boar bristle brush that I used for ten years, my second was a Col. Conk best badger that i used for two years, and my third being the Dovo silvertip.
As for keeping straight razors in the bathroom, it is probably not the best idea, but, I have been doing it for fifteen years with no ill effects. all I do is rinse and wipe after each shave!

If it's got a wood handle on your Dovo brush, keep it clear of the water if/when soaking. I have an ebony one that cracked at the opening for the knot.
