Bactrian camels from asia have long hair, not dromedarians.

I was wondering the same thing not too long ago. Camel hair paint brushes are pretty soft. I don't have a badger hair brush though so I don't know how the two compare. Are there many members that use Horse hair brushes?

My favorite brush is a black horse hair, "Luxor" from Argentina. High loft, sturdy backbone, sucks lots of water (good for Tabac, the only soap I use) lathers very quickly and does not poke my face. It is my second Luxor, and I love them. I also have an Omega best badger, but is too soft for my taste.

Interesting, thanks for the response. Looking at your avatar, I would have thought your favorite brush was badger.
When I start looking for a brush, I won't rule out horse hair then.
