Boar Brushes

Guys i've been using boar brushes my whole time wet shaving. At first it was a $1 made in china piece of junk, that shed like a dog. Sometimes I found more bristles in my lather then facial hair haha. All joking aside then the girlfriend got me an Omega from Shoppers, A Beachwood Handle Pura Stetola. It is really a beautiful brush and after losing a few bristles and breaking in over the months I find it lathers superbly. A quick soak before I make lather and it excels at both bowl lathering and face lathering. Soaps, Croaps and Creams. It's quite soft when broken in and not scratchy at all while still being pleasantly stiff and giving the face a good massage.

I'll cut to the point now. How many of you guys are satisfied with your boar brushes?
How many of you like me don't feel the need to purchase an expensive silvertip brush?

I use one of them most of the time. I have others in boar and badger, habit is strong! Semogue and a Turkish cheapo are my favorites! i do use some of the long handled Old Spice and Barbershop boars on occasion also. Some of them were very well made!
Many guys do use the boar brushes.

Never tried a boar brush,probebly never will,but I am a big fan of Bacon and pork loin roasts

I have and do use boar brushes occasionally. Not a thing against them and could use one as my only brush if push came to shove. I also have various grades of badger brushes and use them occasionally too. They would work as my only brush too. Lastly I have synthetic knot brushes that I use most frequently and they would do as an only brush also. I just wanted to try out the various options available to me but had no need to nor is it a necessity to buy the most expensive brush around to achieve a good lather efficiently with. Right now, having sampled those different types, I would go synthetic exclusively from a personal preference. You do not know what you are missing or not missing till you have tried a few.

My first brush was a basic badger that I used for a long time while shaving with a safety. When I started straights I thought I'd give a new brush a try and got an Omega 10098 and have never given much thought to a softer brush since.

Both have a place in my rotation but if I had to pick it would 100% be a badger.

I have boar and horse brushes in several configurations but none are for shaving.

Like everything else out there when you get used to using an item you feel it works and it's all you need. If you expand your horizons there is a world beyond your comfort zone.

I have a few boar brushes in the collection, never use them,,,,, tried one once,,, then after experiencing a badger ,,,,well,,, I won't go back to boar. Being happy with your shaving equipment is what its all about.

I have a few. I like them a lot, and it's nice for a change from the badger brushes. My favourites are the Semogue 2000 and my Omega Pro. They're really nice to use and the face-feel is great.

A well broken-in boar is just wonderful to use.
