Default Disappointed with my Merkur brush

I got a new red Merkur brush a couple of months back, and immediately loved the weight of it and the feel of the bristles. It went into my rotation, and gets used probably twice a week. Last week, it left a couple of bristles on my face and that was the start of its downward spiral!
It is now losing bristles in clumps!!! I take good care of my brushes, cleaning them and properly hanging them to dry. Has anyone else had this issue or did I just get a dud?

I had a similar experience with a VP Leonhardy 700730 I got from TSS. Lost a hair or two every shave (but with 20000+ thats ok). Then one day I looked in the mirror after face lathering and had a hard time focusing... What the hell's on my face? Clumps of badger hair sticking out. At least 100. Probably 200.

Jared let me upgrade to a 700030. I'm happiest when I'm using that brush.

You got a dud. Shouldn't have any issues getting a replacement.

I have contacted the vendor, but am still waiting for a response. Is this a common issue with this brush or did a truly just get a rare bad one? If this is an issue then I will replace it with a different brush...

They are usually quality brushes. Any brush can be defective or shed no matter the brand. I had a Thater where the knot fell out.

Most brushes will lose a few hairs at first but continual or worsening shedding is a problem. You need to get a replacement. Insist on it.

I was actually unaware Merkur made brushes, so obviously this hasn't happened to me. If it did though, I would try to return it, maybe it was just built on a Friday.

I suspect they don't actually make them. Someone else probably does it.
