Thanked: 0Made Rite 44
I have a beautiful amber handled Made Rite 44 with a nylon brush. Are all nylons hard on the face? This brush feels like I'm spreading with prickly wires. It was my grandfathers, so I'm hesitant to replace it with boar hair.

Actually most of the really old first generation nylons are really soft and wimpy frankly terrible. You probably have one much newer. They started making those in the 40s. I know my dad had one.
Depending on how they were treated they can deteriorate over time. Got a photo of it?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I know the one my dad had felt really soft when you ran it across your face kind of from the side but if you poked yourself with it it was the opposite very wiry. The current production synthetics are totally different. I don't think there is anything you can do to improve on the nylon you have. it's just a neat collectors piece especially since it belonged to your Grandfather.
