Welcome aboard,
Either one of those would do fine. I have several of both styles. I like the bulb shape to work pucks of soap & most often use the fan type to work cream in a bowl,,,
But that is just my preference, as both will work great with pucks or cream.
You can't go wrong with either choice.

The shape of the knot is a person preference, something only you can learn from experience. I also have several brushes with each knot, and like them about the same. You can get a larger sized knot for less money with the bulb, so you might want to start with that one. Thäter are excellent brushes.

Thanked: 3226I have to agree with the previous posters, knot shape is a personal preference. Either bulb or fan work well. Personally I have a slight preference for fan shape. I like to face lather using mostly soaps.

it's one of those things you need to try and see which you prefer which means you have to buy both.
I have both and prefer the bulb. I think with the bulb you can do more of a precision lathering job as opposed to the fan which is the opposite though I think you can build more lather easier with the fan.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 3795I used to think that the fan shape was the only one that made sense. Then I ended up winning a bulb shaped brush at a meet-up and and after using it I came to realize that, in my opinion, the shape really made little to no difference.

always wanted to try a fan shape because i feel i have to mash my bulb shaped one on my face when face lathering. someday i'll get one just to see.
