They are certainly very pleasing to the eye. Can't help thinking they're overpriced though. IMHO obviously!

Ok but I'll sa this , I,m not interested in one of these as beautiful as they are, just not my cup of tea, but a Thater with high end knot runs that much as do Simpsons and all they have is a cheap plastic handle,, so if his knots are high quality it's a real bargain. Tc

All businesses have a right to charge what they want , it's the consumer who decides if it's worth it. If you work I,m sure there are people who don't think There's value in your product either, but as to history , I have a few old badger brushes, so just remember value is in the end buyers hand, and then again , maybe the Simpsons and Thaters price point isn't that high to some. I have been looking at them for quite sometime they are very scupltural you can really see the individual creativity coming through in his work and designs, I like his brushes but because they are so very individual I think If I were to order one I would have to have my own personal imput before I would give him the go ahead.

You could ask yourself why buy a custom class razor for hundreds of dollars when a vintage piece can shave just as good.
In the day boar was the common man's brush but not because it was better or even close but because it was dirt cheap. Badgers were for the well heeled gentleman. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 5I assume by well heeled you mean rich?
Many people have money, but having money doesn't automatically make you a gentleman. Many people think of themselves as high class if they sip tea and use straight razors but straights were used by the common factory worker. If anything, it makes them look snobby. I have 2 Thaters and 1 Simpson Chubby 2 in Super in my collection that I have acquired recently but other than the fact that they are eye candies I cannot but feel a bit disappointed in myself for letting me spend so much money on them. Obviously I can't return them after having used them. As long as it gets you from A to B who cares. Cheers
