Thanked: 0Travel tubes for shaving brushes
Anyone know any good travel tubes for shaving brushes? I already own the Muehle one http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Muhle-Ro..._2533.html. I've seen some interesting ones form Simpson http://www.simpsonshavingbrushes.com/cgi...rod_CASESL, shaving-shack http://www.shaving-shack.com/shaving-bru...-tube.html, and this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Large-shaving-br...B008YEPZ68.

A number 60 prescription bottle (with the aforementioned holes drilled in) will work as well as anything. They're great for carrying a shave stick too (Arko or Palmolive do fine) if needed. Tabac and LaToja come with one already.

You could use florescent tube guards to make several custom length covers for $8 shipped in the US. Also pvc, cpvc, abs pipe would all do as well.
I must not get big enough prescriptions, I have not found one that would work yet.

I just asked the pharmacist if she had any larger tubes, mand she gave me one. It never hurts to ask, all they can say is no. Tc

Also go to a plumbing supply outfit and see if they have some odds and ends of brass or aluminum tubes-pipe. They you can get some rubber and fit it on the ends.

Thanked: 13Oh mang, THAT was a good belly laugh. The $7 Mühle Brush Tube says "While this is a perfect tube for carrying your item, keep in mind that it doesn't actually come with a brush." WUT?!? What a RIP off! :tongue in cheek:
Seriously, that's a decent price. I use a lot of these, telescope eye pieces come in the EXACT same kind of tube, not even quite as sturdy looking, (softer plastic) and priced about the same. Doesn't seem to be a "Mühle markup" on it at all, for using the brand.
And I am looking for a tube, NOT for a Mühle, but for a Merkur Futur, for on the road. I did just get a Mühle Sophist in today, white porcelain and polished nickel, to match the Mrs. bathroom fixtures (matchy matchy SO important for minimum disapproval). Got it from Spain, of all places. NOT cheap at $140 delivered, but the cheapest I could find it. And Boy Howdy, it IS a beauty!!!! MUCH lurv for THAT gorgeous brush. A lil hefty in the handle, but REALLY nice bristles, and built like a Schick Brithouse!Last edited by Moueix; 02-11-2016 at 06:21 AM.
