If it's anything like my Shavemac knot, same one, it's a great one! But mine is set lower, maybe you like them that way, but it sure is good the way mine is set. Tc

Is it scritchy .......... or rather prickly ? I like that in a knot. Very nice looking brush, one way or the other.

Mine has backbone but not much scritch, the tips are pretty soft, the backbone stands up to a vigorous face lathering. Tc

There is a difference between Shavemac's 2 band silvertip and DO-1 2 band silvertip. IIRC, from what I have read the DO-1 2 band is denser packed, has more backbone and is a bit scratchy/scritchy as opposed to the 2 band silvertip. The plain 2 band silvertip Shavemac brush I have has soft tips with no scritch/scratch that I notice, good back bone for face lathering and gives up the soap/lather easily. It is much like the Simpsons Manchurian that I have.

    That's a beautiful brush. Enjoy.

The current D-01 2-Band from Bernd appears to be scritch-free(or close to) from what I've read, compared to offerings of 2-3 years back. I had two brushes from that era and sold both.
