For a long time, the inner cheap bastard in me resisted badger brushes. I could raise just as good a lather with a boar brush. That is still true, but I've realized that I can build a lather in half the time with a good badger as compared to a boar. Still love my Semogue 830 boar though.

My oppinion differs from some. Lower price doesn't necessarily mean it a cheap brush. Silvertip cost more because there's less of it on a badger. Many feel that it's the best grade, but this is a subjective opinion. I prefer the extra stiffness of some of my mid grade badgers over my silvertips. And I often reach past all my brushes for my $10 Omega. It's a very inexpensive brush, but I wouldn't call it cheap.
