So the worst has come to pass... my first brush... has breathed its last. As I was cleaning today the knot fell out. It was a Theirs-Issard. I am holding onto the handle and may try to re-knot it down the road. I am happy though I have my dad's old Ever-Ready and the Simpson travel brush to hold me over for the time being.

Unless the knot is shot or shedding really bad maybe you can re-glue it?

Nothing difficult about reknotting it. The right glue and a few minutes and resurrection has occurred.

Absolutely ! I did that with a Hoffritz for Cutlery badger that I bought in 1973.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Type of glue I should use?
The knot still looks good. The only part that is shedding is the thin ring of hair left in the handle.
