Thanked: 18Badger Butt Brush
Previously I posted about a brush I bought, cheap, $30. and when I used it the thing smelled like, or what I imagined to be what a badger butt would smell like. someone responded as to how I could get the badger but stink out of it. Arg, I misplaced the information. Well, here I am again. Can someone bet me back to the formula?

Thanked: 4826Oxyclean works well. Take a bowl of hot water and a scoop of the cleaner and swish your brush in that. Pour a fresh bowl if your water grey or black and repeat as needed. Then rinse in fresh water.

I've heard dish soap is good too. Some guy use a small percent of vinegar in a glass/bowl of water. Don't recall the exact amounts. Here is a vid that used to be popular ;

Thanked: 18Thanks Jimmy,
Appreciate the reply. I have done the soap thing several times, but not vinegar. Been wondering about the oxyclean stain remover. If you could smell this thing it is incredible, I can't use it as it is now because it stinks so bad. The vinegar just might be what is needed. I sure hope so. $30 is cheap comparatively but it is still thirty bucks. Again thanks for your response. Gonna go getter done an see.

Somewhere on here I believe there is a video about using dog shampoo. I had some in my cabinet for dogs and cats w/ conditioner and washed mine. I have not had any smell that I can smell. It's worth a try.

Dawn dish soap with a small amount of distilled vinegar.
1. Wet brush
2. Coat liberally with dish soap
3. Fill a small bowl or glass with 1 cup of water
4. Add 1/4 cup distilled vinegar to water
5. Let it soak over night
If this does not work I use a product called "Dead down wind" this is a natural scent eliminating enzyme, available in hard or liquid soap. Most recently I used this on a boar bristle brush.
Good luck 😀

1 part hydrogen peroxide and 2 parts Dawn dish soap.
As a K9 trapper, I can tell you, there is few thing worse than the smell of a coyote during breeding time. I mix the above and wash the hide 2 to 3 times, rinsing in clean, cold water. Afterward, the hides smell as fresh as clean laundry.
Our vet told us this mixture when our dog got sprayed by a skunk. Since then, we've had 2 other dogs sprayed and this mixture takes 110% of the odor away....forever, not just a few hrs, like other concoctions.
If it'll work to remove skunk and wild K9 odor, it'll work on shave brushes.
