Best way to remove a Knot ?
I have to remove a bad hair shedding knot out of a custom elk bone handle.....what is the best way to tackle this? I already cut the knot off flush with the top of the handle. Thanks for any help

If you have a Dremel or Dremel-like tool would be your best option to facilitate things.

Thanked: 4828A forstner bit in a drill press is possible as well. Pixelfixed used to lock the hairs in a vice and then twist and pull to break the old know free, but you are past that now. If you go with the drill bit go with a much smaller bit that the size of the knot and do multiple holes to keep from eating into the handle. Once you get most of the hair out and can see better you can go full sized and get the last of it out. I will be doing a couple here soon myself. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the input....that's what I was going to do anyways....those after market knots are a waste of time and money...3 knots in a row were shedding like crazy. But luck be with me...while flicking the water out of my Tulip Thater brush...the knot came flying out of the handle, still entact.....that knot is now going into the elk bone handle. Just trying to make the best, out of a bad situation.
