    Default Simpson 107 Manchurian

    I finally got my Simpson brush back from Progress/Vulfix brush in the UK. Can't wait for my next shave.

    The hole in the brush was 22mm. I asked for them to fill it with Manchurian and didn't specify loft. Figured they know the hair best and what the optimal height would be. It's been set at 52mm. Did a practice hand lather and it feels real good! Also noticed that the wet dog smell that usually comes with a new badger was very light. Not pungent like others I've used.

    Can't wait for my next shave!! Did I say that already?

    Here's before and after. Notice the amount of gross soap scum and greasy hand residue that was in the handle grooves. EWW!

    Awesome! I know you're going to enjoy the lathering from that brush. Looks like it's new again

    Just sent Mark a message about my 107, and your 105 Bob. We'll see what he says about them. I asked if there was a specific name for the style, and if there were other sizes in this series. Hope he has some cool info.

    Congratulations, Andrew! That brush handle is quite lovely and it will be nice to see it in your photos.

    em's place had a complete vintage catalog of Simpon's online years ago, but it isn't there nowadays. Doing a google search for Simpson shaving brush # 107 this was the best I could come up with ;
