Default An excellent 2 band badger brush

There are quite a few posts on high end and budget priced 2 band, mainly Chinese, badger brushes. Just finished a week of using a Semogue Owners Club (SOC) 2 band badger brush with cherry wood handle. I think this excellent brush is often overlooked in the search for an excellent yet reasonably priced 2 band badger brush. I have had mine quite a while now and whenever I use it am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the knot. Soft tips with good back bone and a handle that is very comfortable in the hand whether you face or bowl lather make it a good all arounder. The bonus is that it is not very expensive and can be found on that big auction site for about $67.00 USD. It is really worth considering especially as a first foray into 2 band badger brushes. I have some high end 2 band badger brushes but the SOC is not leaving my brush rotation.

I must say I have been curious about these, especially as an intro brush.
    Thanks

    Thanks, Bob for the review.

I have heard good things about two-band badger, but had not seen much about the SOC version.

I have a birthday coming up soon and have been looking at SOC as a replacement from my $20 VDH badger. It is too floppy and loses hair every time I use it. I told my daughter that I wanted the SOC for my birthday. After your review, I know I will not be disappointed when I open the package. I love the cherry wood handle.

You have to watch some of those cheap 2 banders. Some are 3 banders that have been trimmed down to hide the 3rd band.

The question is how do they compare to the Manchurian 2 banders?
No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Quite well I believe considering the price difference. I don't think anyone is saying that they are in the same class as Manchurian 2 banders but they could spit into that mark from where they are. Compared to my Manchurian the tips are comparable in softness but I think the SOC may have more backbone and possibly is a denser knot. Not a lot of scratch/scratch, if any, in either of them. Of course YMMV.
