I bought this one off of Amazon. It is the only synthetic brush I own so I have nothing to compare it to. I do really enjoy using it and for $12.99 you can't go wrong.

Stirling Soap has new synthetics that look really sharp - gave two for Christmas.

Maggard's store brand synthetics are also really nice.

I've heard good things about tuxedo knots. they are cheap. I haven't used one but I have some in my closet waiting for handles...

I have four brushes with Tuxedo knots from AP shave.
Three re-knots and one of their 24mm. brushes with the blue handle.
Check my recent post in the brushmakers alcove for pictures.
They have great backbone, nice soft tips and lather nicely. One nice thing is they lather equally as well on the face or in the bowl.
I very highly recommend one of their brushes that can be bought very reasonably at AP Shave on Etsy.

I have tried a large majority of synthetics and the best one I have tried is Simpsons synthetic fibres as these are the only ones that don't exhibit the slight 'prickly' feel of all others when face-lathering using some form of pressure while using circular motions; I personally like the Chubby 2.
