Thanked: 25Two Thaters After Two Months Of Use
Approximately two months ago my sweet wife bought me a beautiful Thater 4125/4B 30mm Shave Brush. A few weeks later I bought a Thater 4125/6 after reading a review of it in Straight Razor Magazine. I can now report that both of these brushes in the 4125 lineup are absolutely unbelievable. Without question it is the Most dense brush I believe you could find with the softest tips you could find. I often read people’s comments about a brush having “Backbone” When I recently received the First Thater I was using a 25 year old Small prob 20mm if that, silver tip brush I bought from a now defunct internet store. It has a colonel Konk logo on it. I have no idea who made it. That thing was so floppy when it was new but the thing is I didn’t know it because I had no source or knowledge of all the stuff on the internet. This was 1995. I could have probably gathered most of the straight shavers in the country and bought them all a beer. There were no blogs or forums. It was a brush. I never in all the years used anything but hard soap and all I can say is I never failed to get a good thick lather. Now of course, I know the difference.
So, sorry to ramble. I a absolutely recommend Thater 4125B series brushes. They are worth every penny. Next I want a 28mm and a 32mm. Then I’ll have a 3,4,5,6 or 28mm, 30mm, 32, mm, and 35mm.

Congratulations are in order, you picked two stellar brushes. The two-bands are different, and at some time in the future, you may want to get one. Unfortunately, Thäter brushes hold forever if properly being taken care of, so "in the future" might be twenty years or more

Thanked: 25Yes Sir I have pictures. My Brushes Are Three Band. The two band brushes were a little more expensive and the 30mm and 35 mm 4125B brushes weren’t available. I heard Thater was discontinuing the 32 and 35 or 5 and 6 size in these brushes which is why I bought the size 6 35mm. It’s a monster brush but I really love the feel of a big brush. The 30mm 4125/4B is my main brush. After owning one brush since 1995 a very small silver tip that’s about 20mm I was overwhelmed by these big Thaters. Neither brush has lost a single hair.

Thanked: 25Id like to get a smaller brush of this same model Thater in a26 mm and when I do I may order a two Band. I don’t know the difference. These 4125 Three bands are the most dense knots I’ve ever seen and the tips are so soft it’s unbelievable and they continue to get softer.
I need one smaller to travel I think. I have to wait a bit though. I’ve been on such a rampage lately ordering soaps and other shave stuff and buying pocket knives on EBay, my wife is going to RUN MY ASS OFF! If I don’t stop.

Thanked: 220It appears as if you are on your way to contracting "TAD", (Thater Acquisition Disorder).
My Thater is always in my rotation, good brushes.

Thater makes excellent brushes.
Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance.
