Thanked: 25Two Thaters After Two Months Of Use
Approximately two months ago my sweet wife bought me a beautiful Thater 4125/4B 30mm Shave Brush. A few weeks later I bought a Thater 4125/6 after reading a review of it in Straight Razor Magazine. I can now report that both of these brushes in the 4125 lineup are absolutely unbelievable. Without question it is the Most dense brush I believe you could find with the softest tips you could find. I often read people’s comments about a brush having “Backbone” When I recently received the First Thater I was using a 25 year old Small prob 20mm if that, silver tip brush I bought from a now defunct internet store. It has a colonel Konk logo on it. I have no idea who made it. That thing was so floppy when it was new but the thing is I didn’t know it because I had no source or knowledge of all the stuff on the internet. This was 1995. I could have probably gathered most of the straight shavers in the country and bought them all a beer. There were no blogs or forums. It was a brush. I never in all the years used anything but hard soap and all I can say is I never failed to get a good thick lather. Now of course, I know the difference.
So, sorry to ramble. I a absolutely recommend Thater 4125B series brushes. They are worth every penny. Next I want a 28mm and a 32mm. Then I’ll have a 3,4,5,6 or 28mm, 30mm, 32, mm, and 35mm.
