Thanked: 3225Surprising little brush
Well, surprising to me anyway. Stumbled across an Omega 50068 aka Little Bambino at a local discount store. Being always up to try an inexpensive interesting shave item, I naturally bought it. After using it in this mornings shave all I can say was that I was surprised how well it performed for it's size. It face lathered up a storm using a stick of Arko. I can't wait to see what it will be like when fully broken in.
I have a couple of "travel" brushes but this may wind up to be a favourite. I really think anyone looking for a compact travel brush should give it a test especially given it's low price point. Paired with a stick of Palmolive it would make a classic and effective retro working man's travel combo.

I looked it up. Sure is a tall bristled little brush. Cutr little handle. Finger tip work out. Was it stiff enough with those long boar hairs?
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 3225Yes it certainly was. Generally, boar brushes have a higher loft to knot size ratio than the much vaunted 2 band badger knots while still retaining excellent backbone/stiffness. Just the nature of the difference between the 2 types of hairs. I'm sure the Little Bambino will tear into a hard puck of soap as well as the full sized Omega 10066 of which I somehow wound up with several.

08-17-2018, 02:37 AM #8I was thinking of this thread when I made a little order today at Maggard. They were sold out of the 50068, so I picked up a 10049.
I’ll let you know how it goes.David

Thanked: 3225Yes, for me they seem well broke in after 2-3 weeks of every day use. Love the soft tips and good backbone once the Omegas are broken in. If I load the Little Bambino right I can get 3-4 passes in with a single loading. They certainly will generate enough lather for me when face lathering. I do not see why the same would not be true for bowl lathering either.
Hope those that have ordered one enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine. Will be using mine daily for the next 2-3 weeks to properly break it in.
