Since my shaves of the day are a little predictable.
With only soaps and razors differing.
I decided to try a natural bristled brush.
The backbone and low price point kind of had me
    focusing on boar bristled versions.
And Semogue and Omega both have strong followings.
What sealed the deal for me. Wound up being the
    Handle.
It’s a very close copy of my Razorock 400.
    Here is my review.

Handle: size, length and shape. 10.

Knot: good back bone, fairly dense, tips “scritchy” but comfortable.

Quality Control: Since first use. Only 5 hairs came free out of the knot.
And the smell was not bad. I would describe it as “dry cleaned chemical” type of scent.
Not wet animal. Has after 7 uses almost faded away.

Final opinion: I like this brush. Good quality and value. Would buy one again.
    My $.02

After about 10 or so more uses you will find the tips very much less scritchy. A well broken in Omega boar is a pleasure to use. If you want to splurge a little the Semogue SOC Taj boar brush is well worth a look. For me it had almost no break in period. The handle is very comfortable also.

    Default Update on this brush

After a week of use this brush has shown me why quality boar brushes have the following they do.
Smell is now "neutral". And it did loose two more bristles.
Solid performance with a low price point.
I now have a "rotation" of two, for brushes.
I can tell you the tips were "soft" enough upon first use. But as many have said they are getting softer with use.
I would recommend this brush to anyone thinking about trying a boar brush.

Used my Omega Professional yesterday. $8.00 new a few years ago.

Makes a great lather and stands the whiskers up and ready to shave!

I'm a decade into my Omega boar bristle. No rotation, it's my primary brush. Very comfortable and works great, although the handle is starting to crack a bit. Maybe it will finally give up the ghost in another five years.

    @hungej0e
    Can you post a pic?
Omega boar is by far my favorite hair type. So much time and money wasted in badgers. Well, not really but I like the dramatic approach.

I love my omega. I got the "49" brush. Little scritch at first and a little smelly. But they break in beautifully. Having said that I've had a semogue or 3. I much prefer the way an omega holes itself together as opposed to flopping like the semogue. Soak it first always and it should last a long time. I think I may have lost 3 hairs on mine and I got it a while.

I have a few of those big Omega Pro boars with the knots transplanted into HarryWally Handles. Years of use and better with age!

I enjoy using a boar brush. They certainly have a very different feel to the badgers.

My travel kit has a boar brush which I really like and I just bought an omega boat brush a couple months ago to replace the badger one I gave to my son. I gotta say I dont like it much at all. Way to stiff for my liking I am thinking it needs a couple years of use before I will enjoy it. Neither brush has lost any bristles though. So they have that going for them. I am half heatedly looking for another brush though. I like having 3, one for travel kit, one for face lathering and one to use with a bowl. ATM I use the one Outback gave me for face lathering. I would like to find a vintage one but everyone I see in the stores I visit just dont excite me much and well frankly I cant see spending money as I already have 3 (4 if I steal back my sons who has decided not to shave in last 3 months)
