Nice job Aaron. I have one fan knot and i do think i like it more. Its 22mm but still enough. I too have found 24mm is just about right. Im going to scab up a piece of 2x4 on my drill press and see what happens this weekend. If it works and i end up with a brush handle looking thing i might buy a piece of wood.

Cool, Jerry-I hope to see your results if they're presentable lol. As I've said, that's a rabbit hole I'm trying to avoid. Funny, but my next-door neighbor is getting into woodworking, has made some really nice furniture and home furnishings, and is threatening to build a workshop. I'm trying to talk him into buying a lathe so maybe I can play with it haha (I learned the art of enabling from the master Roy Cudarunner).
If you get serious about it, Cookwoods has gorgeous turning blocks in all kinds of exotic woods, but they ain't cheap. Woodturningz.com has a lot too, but as I've said before, finding your local woodworker and inquiring about cut-offs is a cheaper option. Making 'em a matching brush and razor set for payment also works.
edit: Having seen your woodwork on your razors and hone boxes (including the one I've got coming!), I'm confident you can do something nice!Last edited by ScoutHikerDad; 06-21-2020 at 12:11 AM.
There are many roads to sharp.

We will see. I do lime the mixed wood handle lime the first and third you got there. Nust takes time to glue the stuff together and wait a day for setup. But they sure come out nice that way.

Thanked: 4830A guy cannot have too many brushes. Those look good and the one as a gift back is a great plan.

They came out sweet! I love my SHD fan knot from Maggards. It is so soft and makes a rich lather quickly.
