Thanked: 9A couple older projects
Just wanted to share a couple brushes i made a few years back
Specs-
Handle Material: Polyester Resin
Knot: TheGoldenNib 22mm Finest Badger Fan
Knot at base: 22.5mm
Loft: 47mm
Handle Height: 55mm
Knot wasn't glued in in all pics, but it was straight when it was finished
This brush was amazing, loved it.... Unfortunately it wasn't mine was made for a friend, in exchange for him donating the price of the the brush to his no shave November charity
And below is the first one I fully completed
Also made from Polyester Acrylic, with a TGN knot, but don't have the specs on hand
This one was slightly crooked after the glue up lol But, like I said, it was the first one, and I was dumb, and I drilled the hole after taking it off the lathe.
Still works a treat though, and gets used regularly 5 years later
And a crappy shot of a couple more design ideas that didn't make it to the final stages for various reasons
Left to right for the three without knots
-maple chair leg turned for practice and design testing
-same acrylic as the other one, but left unpolished. Poorly planned, the knot base area was too short and I couldn't drill deeper without busting through
-Claro walnut, with gold rub n buff in the band. Nice stubby handle, but got a bad catch near the base, so that end is unfinishedLast edited by Kavik79; 09-25-2020 at 06:37 AM.

I really like the purple luminescence of the first one.
Good jobIf you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 9Yeah, that purple and metallic copper blend was just incredible. Unfortunately, after making that brush, then shattering another piece on the lathe, i didn't have enough left to make myself one
Definitely going to have to see if that pattern is still available to get some more of it one of these days

Thanked: 104The walnut one looked very nice. I bet it would have held a seriously nice big knot.

Thanked: 9Thanks!
I held on to the busted piece, so that I can redo the design later
Stubby, with a fat knot, was definitely the plan on that one!
Still have more of that same Claro Walnut on hand for "some day"
