Thread: I need a good beard brush...any ideas??

I have a goatee and I need a good brush, not one of those flimsy little things, but something with lots of thick bristles, any ideas??

Take a boar bristle brush, whip up some extra lather tomorrow morning, apply and shave the thing off!

BTW: nice to see you're back and active. How's the shoulder?

I cant...I have grown to like it My wife even likes it....so now I really cant lol.

Shavemac with lightbulb shape bristles in 28mm.

Did you need it for soaps or creams, or both? What do you like in a brush - e.g. luxurious softness, or some more backbone and a bit of scritchiness? And when you talk about size - for some 25mm is bigger than they like (=yours truly) and others jump on 30mm knots, it's so relative.

Since you like big razors, I may infer that you will also want a big brush. So you can probably consider the biggest knots available. Consider Rooney Finest - this is probably the thickest bristle around. Also one of the most expensive. Others include:

• Plisson size 20 (will cost your first born),
• Simpsons - say Polo 12 ("good value" - compared to Plisson),
• maybe BK12,
• and some Shavemac (this will probably be the best value).

I am sure there are other nice brushes I am leaving out but this is a good start, as good as it gets actually. For a really good value - get the biggest Savile Row you can get from QEDUSA, they are supposedly made by Shavemac, iirc.

Can't really recommend anything specific, we need more info.

Im going to need something more stiff than a shaving brush. I dont want to shave my goatee off, I just want to get a brush that will allow me to make it look in order before leaving the house in the morning...you know just like you brush your hair. Only my facial har is stiff and wirey so I need something thick to make myself look well groomed.
