Razor stand...
I hope I got the right room...
I just got back from a shop that deals with containers after a long search. Well I saw a test tube rack as a razor stand so I figured something in this store should work just as well. After an hour of getting lost in there... way to many containers for to much stuff... I came across an acrylic lipstick holder with 9 holes in a square base. Mmmm that looks pretty darn close... at 12.99 it was worth a gamble. I got it home and sure enough if fits all my 6/8's and under very well. I ran out of room before I got to the couple big ones I got. I'll try to get a pic posted but due to oprator headspace and timeing I don't have use of the camera (my phone) at the moment...

How's its center of gravity? I'd hate for you to be grabbing one near the edge and have the whole thing tip and dump them all out
I say if it works it works. It's like that saying that goes "a dumb idea that works isn't a dumb idea". If so, nice find I'm exploring my options of similar holders. I currently just line them up on my dresser, but I'd like a more permanent option.

Mmmm good point, it didn't seem wiggly while I was loading it but that don't mean squat. Off to check that one out...
XXXXXX
Well I just wiggled it around, that bugger didn't want to tip for NADA, but being acrylic it did slide on the steel shelf a bit. Not enough to be conserned about I don't think. A bit of sanding I think would flatten the un even bottom enough to stop that.Last edited by DwarvenChef; 10-23-2007 at 05:16 AM.

or may be glue some rubber feet - should stop the sliding as well.

Brilliant! (like the Guinness commercial)...peel and stick rubber/resin feet...Home Depot or Lowes, etc.....probably under 4 bucks!
Great idea!!!!

A trick we use on board is to put a dab or two of rubber cement on the bottom. If it will keep a plate on the table while heeled 20 degrees it should keep the stand on a flat shelf.

Do you put it on your feet too, when trying to shave whilst heeled at 20 degrees?

Nahh, thats why sailors go barefoot. We use our prehensile toes to keep a good grip. It's when the angle of heel gets to 30 -40 degrees that we put rubber cement on our butts.
