Let your crock pot do the heatin!
I was looking for an old fashion towel steamer, but all I could find were new ones at Barber supply sites -- until I found an unused 4 quart crock pot in my basement. I put four barber towels in it with two cups of water on low and just about when I'm done with my shower the towels are pipping hot, but not so hot to burn hands or face. Give it a try! RalphS

If you decide you want it hot enough to burn the skin off you hands try a rice steamer as that is what I use. I do play "hot potato" for about 30 seconds.. MikeB

Isn't just like us str8 guys to come up with some very practical and ingenious ideas to get the not only a satisfactory but excellent results. I personally don't do the hot towels. When I'm "waiting" for the effect I feel like I'm in the doctor's waiting room after a vaccination. Having said that, its awesome when I'm sitting in a barbers chair and getting the full treatment. But then somebody else has to handle the hot towel.

This just reminded me of something that might work....
A few years ago, we has a "potpourri crock". My wife would buy the dry potpourri, put it in the little crock thing, add some water and plug it in. It warmed it up and gave off a nice scent.
I'll bet that thing would work GREAT for a hot lather bowl!
I hope she didn't throw it away.....

You want hot steamy towels on demand; try a single group commercial espresso machine, my other hobby. It will moisten and heat a towel in 40 seconds.
