    To me it looks like a tool that is used to put ridges on Gnocchi. My Mom used to use one. Except all of the 'ridgers' that I've seen are not stained or lacquered.

    Lather hawk - I like that

    I thought the ridges in gnocchi were made with a fork (but you have to excuse my ignorance here as I'm of Norwegian ancestry). Need to know anything about lefsa?

    That's what I was thinking, but ours had holes in it. We called 'em hacks.

    Forks are commonly used, but they do have a special tool for it too.
    I've never heard of Lefsa before. Looking it up, I gotta say it does look good. (I love anything with potatoes in it)

    Hey !!! that look like the paddle used by Father Evans from Catholic school. Tell you what that thing has gotten more "you know what" than a toilet seat.
