I love his brushes....
.....is it time for a brush group buy? Maybe someone should contact Dan and see what he could come up with, if anything. I nominate "NotMe" to run it.

He does have some nice brushes, and at a good price. Hopefully
it will stay that way. I'm sure since they first were posted here
he's gotten quite a few inquiries.
Kasperitis, I notice in most of your posts you have some pretty good
suggestions, but you always mention that someone else should do
it. Kind of reminds me when I was a kid and we always had that friend
that we could talk into doing stupid things while we watched .

I'm an enabler. An idea-man.
Actually, I tend to be a bit more apprehensive with action, as I'm still new to the community. It would probably be better if a veteran took a group buy under his wing, if you ask my opinion.

No problem. I sent an email in regards to a group buy idea. I'll
update when I find any information out. I believe Mr. Capshaw
recently joined the forum.

Rock on. Tell us what you find out. If he's down, we could get a new thread going to see how many would be interested and go from there.

I received a reply from Mr. Capshaw. He is not interested in a group
buy as he feels it would take a very large order for him to be able
to discount the materials. He also says he does it as a hobby and
enjoys it and getting such a large order may take the enjoyment out
of it. Also, he likes the individual orders as each one is unique and
becomes a project for him.
However, he said that he will offer a $5.00 discount per brush for any
SRP member. All you have to do is inlcude your SRP username with
your order so he can verify membership. Also, if you are in his queue
right now for an order you will be receiving a $5.00 refund and if you
ordered a brush in 2008 prior to this offer he will offer $10.00 off your
next brush order.

Wow. What a great guy!
<--runs off to check his site for another brush...
That cocobolo he has a picture of on the left is gorgeous. If I get a duck call with cocobolo, I'd almost have to get a matching brush, right?Last edited by kasperitis; 03-19-2008 at 07:24 PM.

Dan's a great guy and he's great to do business with. What you don't get from a group buy is working with a gifted craftsman to make a bespoke brush just for you and to your exact specifications at what's already an excellent price. He also knows what he's doing and has made suggestions on my brushes that ended up being correct, resulting in a brush better suited to what I wanted it to do.
I really enjoy using my two Mt. Tam brushes, and I used my big, 28mm spalted maple brush this morning to produce super rich lather with Mama Bear rosemary/mint soap. With that and an old George Bros. razor restored and honed by KenRup (thanks again, Ken!), I had a very nice shave this morning.

Post Bloom
Here are two post bloom pics that are long overdue. I love this brush- the way it feels, loads, and lathers, etc. Thanks Dan!
