Thread: Your thoughts on brush brand

I saw a shaving brush on line and wondered if anyone has any experience with these. its a Tweezerman Deluxe shaving brushwith 100% Badger hair and they sell for $12.00 to $15.00 online.

Any thoughts?

I haven't heard of it, but that seems cheap for a badger brush.

It's a perfectly competent brush. I liked it just fine until I bought some very expensive brushes. (The Chubby1 best ruined me) I PIFed away because I didn't use it much anymore, but it's a solid brush and a great buy. You can get it for $10usd HERE.

I went ahead an bought it there at the beauty rose. I saw it on ebay but it was about 15 with shipping and beauty rosehas free shipping. it's the first one for me. now I just need a Razor, Strop, soap and a bowl. so here goes my decent into the world of straight razor shaving.

I haven't got a Tweezerman myself, but it has got a good reputation. Seems to be great value for money!

I picked one up recently with some pre-owned shaving cremes and soaps. I haven't tried it out yet, but from all appearances it looks like it will be a decent brush.

It's well suited to soaps and face lathering, but it will work well with anything really. It has a really good backbone for a brush of it's price. It's a bit prickly, but it picks up a boatload of soap. It's a good brush. It's on par with any of the sub-$40 brushes.

I finally put the drugstore boarbrush away about a month ago when the tweezerman arrived. WORLD of difference. The lather just explodes onto the face. How long a 12$ brush will last? I dunno. But for the time being I am going to enjoy the ride.

I upgraded to a Tweezerman last year from a pure bristle Vulvix scratcher. While I'm certain there are many more expensive brushes I'm yet ignorant to that would be softer, I also found the Tweezerman to be a vast improvement to the pure bristle and it's been an outstanding brush for me. To date, the Tweezerman has actually curbed any desire for me to upgrade to a more expensive brush. I think in the entire time I've owned it, the brush has only shed less than 10 hairs. I also dry my brush standing it on its handle with bristles to the sky. It's certainly no frills, but that's OK with me.

For $15, I think it's one of the best wet shaving related implements I've purchased to date.

For any new person looking to get set up on a budget, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend this brush.
