    Wow! I can't say its my style, but still very impressive. I'm curious, what "inspired" the shape of the base?

    Thanks! I had the base completed and realized that a wet scuttle/mug placed on it would drip into the recess and the soapy water would just sit there. I added the "gashes" to allow for drainage and give me a reason to add some red, a trademark of mine. I like red in my pieces:

    Thanks! Only the lower joint is moveable. It allows the brush to be lifted from the mug if the mug is very large.
