    Default My new GP Scuttle

Well I ordered a hamada GP Scuttle on Saturday the 28th June, I got a nice email from Lori on the Monday explaining that the online store couldn't calculate international orders and that shipping to the UK would be $28 and to let he know if that was a problem.

The scuttle arrived on the Friday - 6 days from ordering and a mere 4 days from the last communication, totally amazing I'm still waiting on something I bought from a UK website the day before !

Well the wife got to try it out on the Saturday morning, I used it as well but only after I'd finished her legs so the lather was cold by the time I got to it. This morning though I gained the benefits of the full experience ... what can I say but WOW !!!! I've been using a big mug (very similar in shape to the GP) sitting in a sink of hot water for the last couple of months but this is just so much better it isn't even in the same ballpark. The ridges make creating a lather the work of a couple of seconds and the lather it is so much warmer - unbelievable.

Almost as unbelievable as Mòrag's comment of "well I had nothing to compare it with" when I asked her why she'd not told me how good it was ! - rubbish I say I've done her legs using my mug before.

Awesome! Thats a quick turnaround too. I can't wait for my GP scuttle to arrive, though it will be a few months yet.

Maybe Morag wanted to keep the scuttle for herself by blaggin you with the "nothing to compare it with" comment.

Why months ... I see you just scored teddy from Icedog. I'd have not thought it would take more than a couple of weeks.

I too recently got a GT scuttle and like you said, delivery to the UK is really quick. Nothing beats the feeling of warm lather for that second pass. If there are any other UK straight users out there thinking of getting one, just do it. Make the most of the current exchange rate and shop stateside.

Currently waiting for another purchase to arrive from Classicshaving. Good exchange rate only helps feed the RAD!!!

Talk about fast delivery...5 days to Laval, Quebec...wow
And it came in so well packed that you could drop the box from a second floor with no damage.
Georgetown Pottery realy deliver the merchandise.

Here it is, big, heavy, very well crafted.

To show how big it is the brush in it is a full size DeLong silvertip next to a Dovo Special. Would have prefered a Plison but $$$.

    Enjoy

UPDATE. I have just use the scuttle and let me say it's great. If anyone of you have trouble getting a good lather get a scuttle. This thing is design to make lather. I soaked it a few minutes in hot water, poured it out, filed the "inside" with hot water again. I took my Proraso shavingg soap tub, swirl my silvertip brush 6 to 8 times and than went to the scuttle. WOW. I have been using 4 different bowls for the past seven month and I will tell you this "Nothing comes close to the scuttle". The soap foamed up very fast and much thicker than before and just woulded stop foaming at every swirl of the brush. In just a few seconds my brush was like a big 6$ ice cream cone. I applied tree separate coats of lather and the third was as warm as the first one.

I highly reccomand Georgetown Pottery scuttle to all.

I absolutely hate seeing threads like this. I use crap bowls inside of crap bowls. I try to maintain a pathetic semblance of pretending that my shaving method is saving me money and threads like this just do not help.
