Default Scuttles for sale at SRD

Just saw these and they look really intriguing. Wondering how they compare to the GP scuttle (size & performance) if anyone has used both. They're supposed to cover the entire bowl with water whereas (I think) the GP doesn't cover the bottom. Also, do they have ridges to help building lather?

Thanks no they do not have ridges you do not need them try a plain bowl really no difference. They quality is top notch and they are all different. The keep your lather nice and hot.

AFAIK the GP ones cover the bottom now since they started making version 3

Actually, I use a plain bowl right now w/ no problems--heated on a desktop coffee warmer! It works okay, but it only gives heat from the bottom and if you don't watch it, the lather can get too hot & break down, requiring re-whipping.

Now I'm getting reallllly interested--next shaving purchase, maybe? Only thing is how big are they (inside) compared to the GP, say using a 25-25 mm knot brush?

I'm cheap. I use a ramekin as a shaving mug and place the ramekin inside of a slightly larger bowl that contains a bit of hot water. It works well to keep my lather warm and I didn't have to pay anything for it
